How to Submit a Tip
Brookings Area Crime Stoppers – Anonymously Report a Crime Tip
Brookings Area Crime Stoppers has three ways you can submit a crime tip to our program anonymously.
1) The Phone Call
Tipsters can call the Brookings Area Crime Stoppers tipline at 605-692-STOP (7867). There is no caller ID and conversations are not recorded. The Crime Stoppers operator receiving the information completes the tip information form and passes the information on to our department for further investigation.
2) P3 Tips Mobile App
Tipsters have the option of sending an anonymous tip from their mobile phone using our P3 Tips mobile app. You can download the P3 Tips app for FREE from the Apple store or Google Play. Once the tip is sent through the app, the tipster will automatically receive a tip ID number so they will be able to add additional information to the original tip, as needed. The app allows anonymous Two-Way Dialog between the tipster and Brookings Area Crime Stoppers which allows the tipster to come back and provide additional information to their tip at anytime. It also allows Crime Stoppers to ask follow-up questions and provide reward information to the tipster. Tipsters can also upload photos, videos and audio files to their tip using this application.
3) The Online WebTip
Tipsters have the option of giving us tips online by visiting the Brookings Area Crime Stoppers webpage at brookingsareacrimestoppers.com . As with mobile tips, online tips are completely secure and anonymous.
As with the P3 Tips app, a webtip allows anonymous Two-Way Dialog which allow the tipster to come back and provide additional information to their tip at any time. It also provides a secure method for the program coordinator to ask questions or provide reward information back to the tipster through the same secure and encrypted interface.
