Fire Protection System Design & Installation
Information on this page is designed to assist designers and contractors during the design, installation, and inspection of fire protection systems. If you don't find the information you are looking for, please call us at (605) 692-6323 or email the Fire Department.
No fire protection system may be installed without a permit. This permit is basically an approved plan review. The approval process begins with submittal of complete shop drawings of the proposed fire protection system to the Brookings Fire Department located at 607 20th Avenue. These designs are checked for accuracy and within 10 days plan review comments will be mailed to the point of contact.
If the associated plan review and inspection fees are not transmitted with the design, an invoice will follow shortly. These fees cover both the plan review and any subsequent inspections and are based on the following:
Service | Fee |
---|---|
Fire Sprinkler Systems | $75 plus $.45 per sprinkler head |
Retrofitted Fire Sprinkler Systems | $75 plus $.45 per sprinkler head |
