[ARCHIVED] PRESS RELEASE: 17th Avenue South Scheduled to Close on Monday, May 4, 2020

Newsflash Graphics 2020 - 17th Avenue South Update

Starting approximately Monday, May 4th, depending on weather, the Contractor is planning to close a segment of 17th Avenue South between Blair Hill Circle and Pebble Beach Drive. A short segment of 17th Avenue South will be closed for approximately three to four days to through traffic to install storm sewer pipe. Local residents will be able to access their driveways. Traffic control barricades will be in place to alert traffic of the road closure area.

Construction work on the drainage project is continuing. Crews have been grading the park area and installing storm sewer and inlets. After the grading and pipe work is completed, crews will install curb, sidewalk, seeding, and asphalt paving. The project is scheduled to be fully completed in August of 2020.

The City would like to remind the public to be cautious when driving or walking through the project area, especially around work areas under construction. Questions may be directed to Justin Bucher, Banner Associates, at 605-692-6342 or the City Engineering Department at 605-692-6629. We appreciate everyone’s patience during the project.
