On March 4, 2013 the Brookings Police Department will present the opening session for our Citizens’ Police Academy. For 10 weeks, class attendees will receive information and instruction on such issues as use of force, defensive tactics, criminal investigations, and patrol techniques. This program is not an accredited certification course to become a sworn police officer.
Here is a unique opportunity for members of the public to get a “glimpse behind the badge” of law enforcement and the Brookings Police Department. Classes will be held every Monday evening from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
To apply for this free seminar please complete the application and email it to Lieutenant Hilmoe. Applications and more information can be found on the website at the link below or at the Brookings Police Department. Enrollment is limited and we look forward to you participating in the law enforcement experience with us!
The mission of the Brookings Police Department’s Citizens’ Police Academy is to educate the citizens of Brookings and gain their acceptance and cooperation through training and building partnerships.
