NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
FOR THE CITY OF BROOKINGS
BROOKINGS MUNICIPAL UTILITIES WASTEWATER IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT
Brookings Municipal Utilities (BMU) is proposing to construct improvements to its wastewater systems. The City of Brookings is seeking up to $4,000,000 on behalf of the BMU for the wastewater system improvements from the Board of Water and Natural Resources. The funds could be either grants from the State Consolidated Water Facilities Construction Program or a loan from the Clean Water State Revolving Fund (CWSRF) programs. The expected CWSRF Loan terms are 2.125 percent for 30 years. The Board of Water and Natural Resources may forgive all or a portion of the loan principal. The amount and source of funds will be determined by the Board of Water and Natural Resources when the applications are presented at a scheduled board meeting.
The purpose of the public hearing is to discuss the proposed project, the proposed financing, the source of repayment for the loans and to receive comments regarding the application from members of the community. The meeting is open to the public and interested persons are encouraged to attend.

The public hearing will be held at the Brookings City & County Government Center, 520 3rd Street, Third Floor Chamber’s Room on Tuesday, November 23, 2021, at 6:00 P.M.
