2022 - News Flash Graphics - Teacher Week

The Downtown Brookings Business District Committee of the Brookings Area Chamber of Commerce is excited to work alongside the City of Brookings and the Brookings School District to show our gratitude for the great teachers of Brookings! Read on to learn more about how you can share your appreciation for your favorite teacher by nominating them to win some awesome prizes!

How do I nominate? Anyone (students, parents, administration, fellow teachers, and the general public) can nominate a teacher or school staff member currently working within the Brookings School District. Nominations should be emailed to by April 22nd. Any form of nomination is the right form of nomination! Write a letter, create a TikTok, draw a picture, make a video. Just remember, it might be shared on social media!

What’s in it for the winners? Seven Nominees will win a gift basket filled with items from all over Downtown Brookings. Each basket will be different but equally awesome! Don't let your favorites miss out!

Did we mention it’s also National Small Business Week?! May 1 - 7 is also National Small Business Week! This gives the community a unique opportunity to not only show appreciation for our amazing teachers and staff, but to support our small businesses. The prizes for this promotion will be purchased from our downtown shops, restaurants, and more. Join us by shopping local - You may even catch a few surprises along the way!

Nominations should be emailed to by April 22nd. Winners will be announced throughout the week of May 2-6. For more information, please visit
