The City of Brookings is sharing the following press release on behalf of the Downtown Brookings Business District Committee
The Downtown Brookings Business District Committee of the Brookings Area Chamber of Commerce is excited to partner with the Brooking School District and the City of Brookings to show gratitude for the teachers and staff of the Brookings School District. May 1-7 is both National Teacher Appreciation Week and National Small Business Week – providing the opportunity for the Downtown Brookings Business District, home to a large variety of small businesses, to celebrate our Brookings School District teachers and staff through a nomination-driven giveaway!
“Teachers in our community have been playing a crucial role inspiring, educating, counseling and helping the youth in our community solve real-world problems. While this teacher appreciation promotion will never be enough of a ‘thank you,’ we hope that this will inspire community members to show every teacher in our district their gratitude for all of the work they do for our children” said Ashley Ragsdale, Director of the Brookings Arts Council and member of the Downtown committee.
Dr. Klint Willert, Superintendent of the Brookings School District says “The district appreciates the support from our community for our entire team of certified staff and educational support professionals. We value the collaborative efforts between our school district and our community to serve the children and families of the Brookings School District. Working together we make Brookings a wonderful place for families! And remember...it's a GREAT day to be a Bobcat!”
The committee encourages Brookings community members – students, parents, fellow teachers, administration, or the general public – to nominate their favorite teachers and school district staff. Any form of nomination will be accepted. Please submit nominations to Kaitlyn@brookingschamber.org by April 22nd. Winners will be announced May 2-6.
