Contractors will begin soon to construct asphalt overlays on the following streets:
• Main Avenue from the railroad crossing near Railroad Street & First Street South to 4th Street South
• Medary Avenue from North Campus Drive to approximately one-half mile north of Highway 14 Bypass to the Brookings City limits
• 12th Street South between Main Avenue South and Medary Avenue South.
The contractor for these projects will be Bowes Construction, Inc. The projects will include a milling and asphalt overlay of the street surface and new pavement markings.
Bowes Construction anticipates they will begin the milling operation during the week of August 5th and the asphalt overlays will begin during the week of August 12th, weather permitting. The City would like to remind the public to be cautious when driving or walking through the project area, especially around work areas under construction. We appreciate everyone’s patience during the project.
