[ARCHIVED] PLAIN GREEN LECTURE SERIES FEATURING CORI BURBACH – MARCH 20, 2014 AT 7:00 PM

Cori Burbach

Cori Burbach has been the Sustainable Community Coordinator for the City of Dubuque, Iowa since 2009. Prior to taking this position, she served as the International City Managers Association Local Government Management Fellow for Dubuque and Lancaster, Wisconsin. As the Sustainable Community Coordinator, Cori is responsible for implementation of the community's Sustainability Strategic Plan, public education and engagement, local business support, grant application and administration, and analysis and implementation of sustainable practices for City departments.

In 2006 and every year since, the Dubuque Mayor and City Council identified becoming a more sustainable community as a Top Priority. What began with a community-created vision has evolved into a value system embraced by residents, businesses, schools, and government officials. Since 2006, sustainability has become the lens through which community decisions are made. Strong public-private partnerships have facilitated the development of projects like Smarter, Sustainable Dubuque; the redevelopment of the Historic Millwork District; the daylighting of the Bee Branch Creek; and the Petal Project green business certification program.
